About the role

The University of Mississippi Medical Center seeks an Assistant Professor, Neonatologist, within the Department of Pediatrics. Located in Jackson, MS, UMMC is the state's only academic health science center with a mission to improve the lives of Mississippians through education, research, and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical research in neonatology
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows
• Participate in the care of neonatal patients
• Develop and maintain a strong research program

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification in pediatrics and neonatology
• Experience in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
• Ability to secure external funding for research

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in relevant field (PhD preferred)
• Research experience in neonatology
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
