Assistant Professor in Mental Health, Tenure-Track, Social Work
Baylor University Diana R. Garland School of Social Work seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in mental or behavioral health at the Assistant Professor rank, starting August 1, 2027. This position is based in the Waco residential program.
About the Role
Successful candidates will contribute to the school's mission of educating students and advancing research in mental health, while engaging in meaningful service and collaboration with colleagues. Preference will be given to candidates with a capacity for effective teaching, student engagement, and leadership in research, teaching, and service activities.
Responsibilities
- Pursue a rigorous research agenda with an emphasis on mental health, including publications and external funding.
- Teach and mentor students in Garland School programs.
- Engage in service and collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Earned research doctorate in social work and/or a relevant field of study.
- Enthusiasm for the mission of the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work.
- Demonstrated ability to pursue a rigorous research agenda with commensurate publications and external funding, with an emphasis on mental health research.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- MSW from a CSWE-accredited program.
- Minimum of two years post-MSW professional experience.
- Capacity for effective teaching and student service/engagement.
- Evidence of collaborating with stakeholders and leadership in research, teaching, and service activities.
