About the role

The Diana R. Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in mental or behavioral health at the Assistant Professor rank, starting August 1, 2027. This position is based in the Waco residential program.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the school’s mission of educating students in Garland School programs
  • Advance research in mental health
  • Engage in meaningful service and collaboration with colleagues in the school
  • Pursue a rigorous research agenda with commensurate publications and external funding, emphasizing mental health research
  • Demonstrate effective teaching and student service/engagement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and provide leadership in research, teaching, and service activities

Requirements

  • Earned research doctorate in social work and/or a relevant field of study
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work
  • Demonstrated ability to pursue a rigorous research agenda with commensurate publications and external funding, emphasizing mental health research

Qualifications

  • MSW from a CSWE-accredited program (preferred)
  • Minimum of two years post-MSW professional experience (preferred)
  • Capacity for effective teaching and student service/engagement
  • Evidence of collaborating with stakeholders and capacity for leadership in research, teaching, and service activities
