Assistant Professor in Health and Wellness

About the role
The Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences (DCNHS), Division of Health and Wellness Studies, invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor positions beginning in Fall 2025. We seek candidates with a background and established research emphasis in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Measurement & Evaluation, Theory & Research, and Statistics. Applicants should demonstrate experience with a transdisciplinary approach to research, program development, and grant writing. Successful candidates will contribute to the new Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program, with collaborative qualities essential, as evidenced by prior work on grant applications and projects. Preference will be given to those with undergraduate teaching experience in health-related fields.
Responsibilities
- Teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses in the new Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program.
- Engage in faculty responsibilities such as advising, committee work, scholarship, and service to the school and university.
- Utilize a variety of technologies to support online and in-class teaching.
- Participate in and contribute to professional organizations.
Requirements
- PhD in Exercise Science, Physiology, Kinesiology, or a health-related field by September 1, 2025.
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience teaching health sciences or a health and wellness program.
- Experience working on grant applications and/or projects.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching undergraduate-level, health-related courses.
- Experience teaching in a higher education setting.
- Current relevant certifications, such as Registered Dietician, ACSM, or CHES.
