About the role

The Department of Psychology at Texas State University is seeking a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology. While expertise in aging is preferred, candidates with any clinical‑psychology specialization will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an active research program that incorporates both undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Teach undergraduate‑ and graduate‑level courses relevant to clinical psychology.
  • Supervise graduate theses and dissertations.
  • Actively seek and maintain external funding for research.
  • Obtain and maintain licensure to practice clinical psychology in the state of Texas.
  • Participate in service as a good departmental citizen.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (or closely related field).
  • Demonstrated potential to develop a robust, externally funded research agenda.
  • Experience or willingness to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Ability to supervise graduate research projects (theses/dissertations).
  • Current or ability to obtain Texas clinical‑psychology licensure and maintain it.
  • Commitment to departmental service and collegial collaboration.
  • Preference for expertise in aging, though all clinical‑psychology specializations are welcome.
