Assistant Professor- IL- Behavioral Sciences (Part-time 0.5 FTE)

About the role

Midwestern University’s Department of Behavioral Sciences in the College of Health Sciences invites applications for a part-time (0.5 FTE), core faculty position in the APA-accredited Psy.D. Program on the Downers Grove campus. Rank is at the Assistant Professor level or commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and teach courses in the Psy.D. curriculum, with preference for clinical courses focused on assessment and report writing, including projective techniques, lifespan development, biological and/or cognitive-affective bases of behavior, the history and systems of psychology, and/or integrated healthcare.
• Provide academic advising and dissertation mentoring.
• Participate in Program, College, and University committees.
• Engage in professional service through state, regional, and national organizations.

Requirements

• Earned doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• Licensed or license-eligible as a clinical or counseling psychologist in the State of Illinois.

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest or experience in teaching clinical assessment and report writing, including projective techniques.
• Record of prior teaching experience, scholarly productivity, and professional service.
• Motivation to advance clinical psychology education, promote diversity and social justice within the curriculum, and engage students in self-reflection and self-awareness.
• Interest in helping students become skilled clinicians, researchers, and advocates, with a critical role on interdisciplinary teams.
