The Department of Anthropology at Michigan State University is establishing a pool of part-time fixed-term assistant professors to be filled on an as-needed basis beginning as early as August 17, 2026. Positions are open for the upcoming academic year.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in sociocultural and medical anthropology.
- Courses may include those offered as part of the department's Integrated Studies in the Social Sciences program.
- Courses will be delivered in-person.
Required Degree: Doctorate in Anthropology
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience teaching at the college level.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated record of teaching excellence preferred.

- Evidence of teaching excellence (student evaluations, sample syllabi, teaching portfolio, statement of teaching philosophy).
