These are full-time, academic-year tenure-track positions in the School of Business at the University of Kansas, beginning August 18, 2027. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. by the effective date of the appointment and will be subject to a background check. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with United Academics (UAKU).

About the Role

Successful candidates will contribute to the advancement of knowledge through high-quality publications in leading academic journals, teach rigorous courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels, and engage in service and outreach activities. Responsibilities

  • Research (40%): Develop and sustain an active program of scholarly research in finance and related fields, leading to publications in high-quality academic journals, scholarly presentations, and other research contributions.
  • Teaching (40%): Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in finance and related disciplines. Contribute to student learning through instruction, mentoring, advising, curriculum development, and other educational activities.
  • Service (20%): Engage in service activities supporting the area, school, university, profession, and broader community through committee participation, professional engagement, outreach, and student support.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Finance or a related field (must be earned by August 18, 2027).
  • Demonstrated or evidence of high potential for excellence in scholarship, as shown through publications and working papers.
  • Demonstrated or evidence of high potential for teaching excellence.
