Assistant Professor - Finance
Up to two full-time, academic-year tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Finance for the 2027-28 academic year at the University of Kansas School of Business.

The successful candidate will contribute to the advancement of knowledge through high-quality publications in leading academic journals, teach rigorous courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels, and engage in service and outreach activities that support the School of Business and the University of Kansas. This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement between The University of Kansas and United Academics. Candidates have the right to be a union member or not without repercussions.
Responsibilities
- 40% Research: Develop and sustain an active program of scholarly research in finance and related fields, leading to publications in high-quality academic journals, scholarly presentations, and other research contributions.
- 40% Teaching: Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in finance and related disciplines. Contribute to student learning through instruction, mentoring, advising, curriculum development, and other educational activities.
- 20% Service: Engage in service activities supporting the area, school, university, profession, and broader community through committee participation, professional engagement, outreach, and student support.
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in Finance or related field (must be earned by August 18, 2027).
- Demonstrated or evidence of high potential for scholarship excellence as shown through publications and working papers.
- Demonstrated or evidence of high potential for teaching excellence.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. by the effective date of the appointment.
