About the role
The LaFetra College of Education (LFCE) at the University of La Verne seeks an Assistant Professor of Educational Counseling. The position is a 10-month, full-time, non-tenure track faculty role.
Responsibilities
- Educate students in the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive school counseling programs aligned with the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model and Ethics Code.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a diverse and inclusive educational environment that promotes social justice and advocacy.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of school counseling services and promote best practices in the field.
- Engage in research and scholarship that advances the understanding of effective school counseling practices and contributes to the body of knowledge in the field.
- Participate in professional organizations and contribute to the advancement of the field through presentations, publications, and service activities.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Education or related field
- Valid CA PPS Credential – School Counseling
- 3 - 5 years school counseling experience in PK-12
- Experience in teaching and/or working with adult learners
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in Education or related field
- Providing school counseling and/or school psychology services to students in an urban setting
- Bilingual in Spanish, or other languages common in California’s student demographics
