Assistant Professor Comprehensive Ophthalmology
About the role
The Department of Ophthalmology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical and surgical comprehensive care for patients at Scheie, the Philadelphia VA, and one of Scheie's satellite offices.
- Teach residents, students, and fellows at Scheie and the Philadelphia VA.
- Participate in ophthalmic urgent care service, inpatient bedside procedures and imaging, and didactic and clinical training of residents.
Requirements
- A completed M.D. or equivalent degree.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical skills and ability to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Proficiency in ophthalmic surgery and medicine.
- Effective teaching and mentoring abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
