Assistant Professor Coastal Engineering

About the role

The Department of Engineering Science in the Gupta College of Science and Engineering at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in Coastal Engineering, beginning Fall 2027. The appointment is full‑time on a 9‑month basis. The successful candidate will teach introductory and upper‑level engineering courses, develop a research program that involves undergraduate students, and mentor extracurricular groups, with start‑up funds available to support research activities.

Responsibilities

• Teaches students in the classroom and/or laboratory.
• Prepares content, syllabi, and University Moodle/curricular site for each course/lab assigned each semester; communicates to students after reviewing assignments; calculates and assigns grades (mid‑term and final) through established procedures; tracks and reports absences as directed by the Office of the Registrar.
• Posts and holds regular office hours each
