Assistant Professor, Clinical Sciences - General Pharmacy, Oncology, or Infectious Disease
About the role
The KGI School of Pharmacy seeks outstanding individuals with expertise in general pharmacy, oncology, or infectious disease for two full-time clinical pharmacy faculty positions at the assistant professor level.
Responsibilities
- Create, deliver, and assess instruction and its effectiveness for student learning in the doctor of pharmacy curriculum, both in the classroom and at the designated practice site.
- Develop and maintain a clinical practice at a designated practice site; precept students at that site and develop a program of research/scholarship as evidenced by professional presentations, publications, and/or grants.
- Participate in faculty governance, contribute to the service needs of the Institute, serve on various committees, participate in the accreditation process, and participate in the co-curricular activities within the school.
- Engage in service to the profession and community.
- Provide academic advising/mentoring for PharmD students and support their personal and professional development.
Requirements
Applicants must be graduates of an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program and either currently have or be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in California. Qualified candidates should hold a Doctor of Pharmacy or other terminal degree and have been PGY1-trained or hold a fellowship in internal medicine, pharmacotherapy, diabetes, oncology, immunology, or rheumatology or possess comparable clinical experience, education, residency, or board certification.
Qualifications
Candidates with previous experience teaching Doctor of Pharmacy students, a track record of effective scholarship, and research interests that complement KGI's strengths will be given preference.

Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team of highly motivated and experienced individuals. Honesty, integrity, and commitment to maintaining high professional standards. Teaching experience and philosophy that supports active learning. Ability to travel locally as needed to meet business requirements, which may include driving or other modes of transportation.
Benefits
Salary range: $117,000 - $130,000 annualized. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. Selected candidates will be offered a starting salary based on years of aligned experience and any specialized training or certifications (if preferred for the position).
Pay
Salary range: $117,000 - $130,000 annualized.
Schedule
Typical working hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; however, teaching schedules will vary based on course assignments and the operational needs of the department or Institute.
