Assistant Professor (Clinical) - Clinical Chemist/Clinical Pathologist
About the role
The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and ARUP Laboratories is seeking an individual with the skills and interest to develop a strong academic career focused on clinical chemistry and automated clinical laboratory testing.
Responsibilities
- Experience in core clinical laboratory testing
- Experience with clinical assay development and validation
- Quality control and quality assurance experience
- Laboratory test result interpretation
- Consultation with physicians and other healthcare providers
- Experience with total laboratory automation is highly desirable
- Contribute to the department’s research and teaching missions
Requirements
- MD, MD/PhD, or PhD degree
- MD candidates should be board certified or eligible in clinical pathology by ABP
- PhD candidates should be board certified or eligible in clinical chemistry by ABCC
Qualifications
Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
