Assistant Professor, Biostatistics - Hybrid Onsite
About the role
Provides strategic guidance and expertise in statistical and health data science methodologies for research design and analysis, with a focus on clinical research projects. Works collaboratively with other investigators, clinicians, and scientists in facilitating research.
Responsibilities
- Applies statistical and health data science methods to research projects, with a focus on externally funded research projects.
- Provides strategic direction in research protocol development, biostatistics/statistics, database design/maintenance, and manuscript development/review process.
- Supports applications for grant funding and/or patents as appropriate.
- Responsible for the statistical analysis of research data.
- Submits manuscripts and abstracts for publication/presentation.
- Participates in departmental and institutional committees and activities.
- Provides technical guidance to statistical research staff.
- Provides education and training in statistical methods and applications, as needed.
- Performs related duties as required.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or a closely related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years of leadership/management experience (relevant experience during PhD training, postdoctoral work, or equivalent roles will be considered).
- Strong programming skills in statistical software.
Preferred Skills
- A track record of participation in externally funded research, preferably with experience in oncology clinical trials.
- A record of scholarly achievement, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at academic conferences.
- Strong collaboration and effective communication skills.
