About the role
The University of Georgia announces a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM) (http://cmm.uga.edu). The mission of the CMM is to better understand the molecular and cellular basis of human disease, and then to use this information for the development of new therapies, cures, and diagnostics. To advance this mission, we are seeking applications from talented and accomplished investigators who exhibit potential for developing vigorous research programs. The CMM is physically and administratively interconnected with the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center (CCRC) (https://ccrc.uga.edu/), which offers unique opportunities for collaborations in analytical and glycobiological aspects of human medicine. We seek outstanding scientists who are addressing fundamental biological problems whose research either complements or expands existing strengths in the Center.
Responsibilities
- Establish a robust, externally funded research program.
- Mentor graduate students, undergraduate students and postdoctoral research associates.
- Fulfill teaching obligations.
- Participate in furthering the mission of the University.
Requirements
We anticipate that successful candidates will have one or more of the following: a record of postdoctoral work, relevant research background, or independent funding.
Qualifications
A terminal degree in the discipline.
