Assistant Professor
Key Responsibilities
This research will focus on gastrointestinal cancer, inflammation, and metabolism. Patient-derived tissues, organoid models, and translational laboratory approaches are used to study the biological mechanisms that drive gastrointestinal diseases, including colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. The long-term goal is to develop improved strategies for disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Qualifications
- A PhD or MD from an accredited institution in a related field of biology, toxicology, or immunology.
- Record of published manuscripts and at least five publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Research experience with gastroenterology, colitis, fibrosis or closely related field.
- Demonstrated success in obtaining research funding.
- Published expertise in mucosal innate immunity, inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, fibrosis or closely related field.
- A track record of successful research collaborations.
