About the role
The Department of Physics at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in Theoretical Condensed Matter or Materials Physics at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking colleagues who will contribute to building a world-class research program in theoretical condensed matter and quantum materials physics. Outstanding candidates in computational condensed matter and materials physics are also encouraged to apply. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Physics or a related discipline and must demonstrate creativity and the ability to establish an independent research program.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a vibrant research environment
- Establish an independent research program that aligns with departmental and university priorities
- Collaborate with other faculty members and students on interdisciplinary projects
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in theoretical condensed matter and materials physics
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Physics or a related discipline
- Outstanding research record
- Strong teaching abilities
- Ability to secure external funding
Qualifications
- Research focus in theoretical condensed matter or materials physics
- Experience in computational methods is preferred
