About the role
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Weber State University invites applications for one of two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2023. We seek a person committed to undergraduate physics teaching with research experience in theoretical or computational methods and the application of those to physics and/or interdisciplinary problems.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate physics courses
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative teaching methods
- Develop and maintain a strong research program
- Engage in service activities within the department, college, and university
Requirements
- PhD in Physics or a related field by the start date
- Strong record of research in theoretical or computational methods applied to physics and/or interdisciplinary problems
- Excellent teaching skills with a commitment to undergraduate education
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Qualifications
- Research experience in theoretical or computational methods applied to physics and/or interdisciplinary problems
- Experience in undergraduate teaching and curriculum development
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge of current pedagogical techniques and technologies
