Assistant Professor, Academic Clinician Track, Pediatric Health and Behavior Program/Pediatric Headache Program, CHOP

About the Role

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pediatric psychology.

Responsibilities

• Supervising behavioral health trainees, including psychology externs and interns.
• Giving lectures to trainees in psychology, psychiatry, and pediatrics.
• Developing curricula.
• Providing outpatient consultation and intervention to youth with chronic medical conditions and medical traumatic stress within the Pediatric Health and Behavior Program.
• Providing outpatient consultation, assessment, and intervention services to youth diagnosed with pediatric chronic migraine and other headache disorders within the Pediatric Headache Program.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
• Completed internship and fellowship in pediatric psychology or clinical care psychology.
• PA license in psychology.

About the Programs

Pediatric Health and Behavior Program (PHAB): An outpatient consultation and psychotherapy program for youth with chronic medical conditions, traumatic injuries, and their caregivers. PHAB staff includes psychologists, psychiatrists, and administrative staff. Commonly referred patient populations include autoimmune conditions, neuromuscular disorders, neuroinflammatory disorders, brain injury, atopic diseases, and chronic kidney diseases. The pediatric psychologist will be encouraged to focus on a disease area of special interest and collaborate with medical providers, social workers, and outpatient staff.

Pediatric Headache Program: Provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to evaluating and treating chronic migraine and other headache-related diagnoses. The psychologist will work closely with a team including neurologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and psychiatry staff to provide care and develop services within the Program.
