Responsibilities
- Serve as a clinical consultant to the medical staff and other providers on test results and interpretation
- Fulfill the role as the director of the clinical microbiology laboratory at a regional hospital
- Be involved with oversight of clinical test analysis and sign-out, quality management, innovation and test development
- Actively participate in the teaching and supervision of fellows, pathology residents, medical students and laboratory staff in areas of medical microbiology
Requirements
- Expertise in clinical microbiology
- Applied and/or translational research in the broad area of clinical microbiology and/or infectious diseases
- An MD or PhD or MD/PhD degree
- MD candidates must be board-certified (or eligible) in clinical pathology (or AP/CP)
- MD candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Pennsylvania and New Jersey
- PhD candidates must be board-certified (or eligible) by the American Board of Medical Microbiology
- A minimum of 1-year of subspecialty fellowship training in an accredited program in medical microbiology
- Experience in clinical informatics is welcomed
