About the Role
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track.
Requirements
- Expertise in the specific area of flow cytometry/hematology/hematopathology
- Applicants must hold an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree
- Must be certified by the American Board of Pathology (AP/CP or CP-only)
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania and New Jersey
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and/or certification in Molecular Pathology and/or Pathology Informatics is preferred although not absolutely necessary
Teaching Responsibilities
- Training of medical students, residents, fellows and post-doctoral students
- Formal lecture opportunities within the Department and Hematopathology Division
Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluation and diagnosis of hematopoietic neoplasms and other disorders
- Participation in bone marrow, tissue, and flow cytometry services
- Review of peripheral blood and body fluid smears
- Evaluation of hemoglobinopathies
- Weekend call
