Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Clinical Chemistry. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree. Ph.D. applicants must have appropriate postgraduate board certification or active candidate status (ABCC in Clinical Chemistry). M.D. applicants must have board eligibility/certification in clinical pathology. Physicians must be eligible/licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teaching may include fellows, residents, medical and graduate students or Medical Laboratory Scientist students.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Assisting in oversight of clinical chemistry laboratory operations.
- Clinical test interpretation.
- Quality control.
- Innovation and test development.
Assistant Director of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory
- Serving as Assistant Director of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability in test development.
- Experience with total lab automation.
- Expertise with mass spectrometry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate training experience in pediatric clinical chemistry.
