Assistant Professor (16863)

The Division of Healthcare Management in the School of Allied Health Sciences at Florida A&M University is seeking a tenure-earning Assistant Professor in Healthcare Management. The successful candidate will:

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in healthcare management;
• Engage in independent and collaborative research;
• Participate in service activities, including Division, School, and University-wide activities;
• Contribute to the life of unit tasks supporting student success outcomes and strategic goals.

About the Role

This position is a full-time (12-month) tenure-earning opportunity. The ideal candidate should possess a Ph.D. in Healthcare Management, Health Services Administration, or Health, Health Policy and Management from an accredited institution, with at least five years of relevant professional experience. Experience teaching in a college or university setting is preferred.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include:

• A Ph.D. in Healthcare Management, Health Services Administration, or Health, Health Policy and Management from an accredited institution;
• At least five years of experience in the professional arena;
• Instructional experience in a college or university academic program.

Recommended Competencies

Preferred qualifications include:

• Knowledge of healthcare management and human services theories and frameworks;
• Involvement in professional organizations;
• Community service;
• Evidence of scholarly research;
• Technical competency using computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, statistical software, and computer-based learning platforms;
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Pay

This is a Faculty position. The pay plan is competitive and commensurate with experience.
