Job Summary

The Assistant Supervisor will lead, coordinate, and direct all tasks associated with running food manufacturing production lines, adhering to established standards.

Responsibilities

  • Verify all raw materials at production lines for accuracy and condition, including the verification of quantity, locator tickets, and lot codes.
  • Perform and document material inventory at the production line.
  • Perform head count and document all employees at the production line.
  • Request materials for the following shift with a minimum of 2 hours' advance notice.
  • Attend daily shift DDS/Handover meetings to communicate relevant information with the incoming shift personnel.
  • Notify the shift supervisor immediately of any issues related to safety, materials, equipment, or people.
  • Maintain cleanliness of lines at all times.
  • Ensure employee safety at the line; report any unsafe conditions to the Production Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain assigned reports; ensure all paperwork is accurate.
  • Monitor the performance of the line to meet standards while maintaining quality. Train employees on tasks as needed.
  • Enforce company rules regarding safety, GMP, SQF, discipline, cooperation, and teamwork.
  • Attend selected meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist the supervisor in maintaining facility goals.
  • Work with the supervisor to identify root causes and corrective actions in relation to Quality Control holds and rework.

Requirements

  • Average math skills and proven ability to perform tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret company documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
  • Ability to learn and use an ERP system.
  • Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness).
  • Participate in company GMP walks.
  • Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring.

Working Conditions

- Office setting and warehouse/production environment with a temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees.

Physical Requirements

- Operate standard office equipment. - Reach with hands and arms. - Lift up to 25 pounds. - Operate industrial equipment and company-specific equipment. - Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. - Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Salary Description

$20- $30 / hr plus $1/hr Shift Differential
