Assistant Production Manager

As a vertically integrated home builder, we serve customers through every stage of the homeownership journey—building, selling, financing, and insuring homes. We are seeking an Assistant Production Manager to direct and coordinate the activities of all production departments, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead large groups of people and develop a culture of accountability and teamwork.
• Ensure strict adherence and compliance with quality assurance requirements, including HUD building codes.
• Prioritize safety by adhering to strict safety rules and guidelines.
• Review production performance and identify training opportunities for production personnel.
• Direct teams effectively to ensure timelines and production priorities are met.
• Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and direction for personnel development and employee engagement.
• Improve production processes to enhance quality, reduce lead-times, and lower operational costs using Lean Manufacturing methods, 6S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Total Quality Management.
• Lead, guide, and direct department leaders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant management experience.
• Previous construction experience strongly preferred; experience in manufactured housing is greatly desired.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic math skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task effectively.
• Ability to read and understand home building specifications (greatly desired).
• Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols.
• Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a fast-paced work environment.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and/or pulling.
• Must be able to communicate via phone, email, and in person, exchanging accurate information with others.
• Work environment is not temperature-controlled and may involve exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Work primarily involves sitting/standing for up to 4 hours at a time.
