Assistant Production Manager
Duties / Responsibilities
- Lead large groups of people and focus on developing a culture of accountability working as a team
- Strict adherence and compliance with quality assurance requirements to include HUD building codes
- Be safety minded and ability to put Safety 1st – must adhere to strict safety rules and guidelines
- Reviewing production performance and identifying training opportunities of production personnel as necessary
- Direct teams effectively in each department to ensure timelines and production priorities are met
- Provide sound leadership, coaching, mentoring, and direction for personnel development and employee engagement
- Improve production processes for the purpose of improving overall quality, reducing lead-times, and lowering costs of operations by utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods, 6S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, etc. applications where necessary
- Lead, guide and direct department leaders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2-3 years relevant management experience
- Previous construction experience strongly preferred
- Experience in manufactured housing is greatly desired
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
- Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as basic math skills
- Must be detail-oriented and can multi-task effectively
- Ability to read and understand home building specifications greatly desired
- Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols
- Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a changing, fast-paced work environment
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling
- Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person
- Must be able to exchange accurate information with others
- Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures
- Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time
