Constellation Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal in Parma, Ohio dedicated to providing a superior education for all students. The ideal candidate will lead a team to create a rigorous and nurturing environment that prioritizes student engagement and achievement.

Operational Objectives

• Effectively supports the school's educational program and maximizes student learning experiences in a safe learning environment.
• Articulates the school's philosophy and mission and complies with all pertinent State of Ohio and Federal educational requirements.
• Maintains a welcoming, safe, clean, orderly, positive, and effective learning environment which promotes high academic and behavioral expectations.
• Serves as a liaison between the school and the broader community, including parents, local elected officials, and civic leaders.
• Administers all Federal, State, and Board adopted programs adhering to all eligibility, record keeping, reporting, and confidentiality requirements.
• Supports the appropriate delivery of all Title and Special Education Services in accordance with the applicable law.
• Assists in the interviewing of potential school employees.
• Works with the School Principal to support the success of all Community School Sponsor site visits.
• Participates in the student enrollment process.
• Attends all scheduled Board Meetings.
• Maintains the Parent/Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct.
• Handles student discipline in a fair, consistent manner in accordance with policies & procedures.
• Communicates effectively with staff, students, parents/guardians, and outside agencies to better meet the needs of the students.
• Identifies programs and activities which facilitate the professional growth of school staff and enhance the quality of educational programs.
• Remains knowledgeable of Charter Schools/Public Schools legal issues.
• Communicates with LLC staff to inform and ensure the school's website information is accurate and up-to date.
• Assists in the development of the school budget so as to insure the needs of the school can be met.
• Participates in all grant efforts in the school.
• Evaluates data points to maximize student learning and helps to evaluate student progress.
• In the absence of the School Principal, the Assistant Principal will provide effective supervision of all building staff.

• Partners with parents/guardians to ensure the academic success of their children.
• Welcome parents/guardians and students each day with enthusiasm.
• Encourage parents/guardians to participate in their child's school experience.
• Encourage parent/guardian participation during parent/guardian conferences.
• Encourage parent/guardian satisfaction feedback via parent/guardian surveys.
• Provide parents/guardians of prospective students with information about and tours of the school.
• Foster relationships with parents/guardians, encourage volunteerism.

Community Objectives

• Encourage and maintain communications with community members.
• Participate in community events, connecting with community leaders.
• Work with the School Principal and Marketing Staff to ensure the Constellation brand is visible within the community.

Personnel Objectives

• Attend meetings/activities and training with: students, parents/guardians, and staff, as and when required.
• Provide direction and assistance to teaching staff as it relates to curriculum development, and the evaluation and selection of classroom materials.
• Absorb the establishment of all school committees and student enrichment activities and participate in system-wide Constellation committees.
• Evaluate Teachers based on the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES).
• Coach teachers to assist them to reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field experience.
• PREFERRED: Master's degree in Educational Leadership.
• MUST possess an Active Principal's License or willingness to obtain an Alternative Principal's license.
• 3-5 years of teaching experience preferred.
• OTES credentialed or willing to become OTES credentialed.
• Experience in the Teacher Based Team (TBT) and Building Leadership Team (BLT) process.
• Experience working / leading Professional Development programming in a leadership capacity.
• Previous experience successfully implementing the Ohio Learning Standards in an academic setting.
• Previous experience successfully creating and implementing a school budget.

Benefits

• Compensation: The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $82,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
