Assistant Principal of Culture

About the role

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of a robust culture that fosters an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, staff, and families. This includes establishing clear expectations, promoting positive behavior, and ensuring a safe and respectful school climate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a positive school culture aligned with DREAM Charter Schools’ mission and values.
• Implement strategies to promote student engagement, academic success, and social-emotional learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure consistent messaging and practices around school culture.
• Evaluate and refine the school culture based on feedback from stakeholders and data.
• Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff related to school culture.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership position within a K-12 educational setting.
• Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive school culture initiatives.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of best practices in school culture and social-emotional learning.
• Experience with data-driven decision-making and evaluation of school culture initiatives.
• Understanding of anti-bias and anti-discrimination policies and their implementation.
• Passion for creating a positive and inclusive school environment.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
