Job Summary
Aid the Principal in leading and developing practices, procedures, and policies to achieve school and student achievement goals.
Duties
- Support curriculum alignment with content standards through teacher observations and curriculum committee work.
- Evaluate, appraise, mentor, monitor, and provide feedback to licensed staff to support planning, instruction, engagement, and assessment.
- Provide leadership for the professional growth of the instructional staff through job embedded professional development, goal development and monitoring, and recommendation and support of educational/training opportunities.
- Afford leadership for the professional growth of educational support personnel through in-service programs, goal development and monitoring, and recommendation and support of educational/training opportunities.
- Supervise and plan athletics/activities to promote well-rounded students.
- Respond to parent, student, stakeholder, and community concerns/questions and promote positive public relations.
- Encourage school/parent/student/community partnerships in providing for the educational needs of the student.
- Implement, administer, and monitor the Response to Intervention (RTI) process.
- May be responsible for supervising and planning athletics/activities to promote well-rounded students.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Provide leadership for the professional growth of the instructional staff through job embedded professional development, goal development and monitoring, and recommendation and support of educational/training opportunities.
- Afford leadership for the professional growth of educational support personnel through in-service programs, goal development and monitoring, and recommendation and support of educational/training opportunities.
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, outdoors, on/off the bus, parking lot, and/or during extra-curricular activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff at all times, including developing, implementing, and instructing others on crisis prevention and procedures; supervising and providing direction for the proper inspection, maintenance, cleanliness, and repair of the buildings and grounds; and planning, organizing, and implementing fire and disaster drills and other emergency procedures.
- Actively participate in professional organizations, committees, and professional development opportunities.
- Aid the Principal in hiring licensed, educational support personnel, and co-curricular staff.
Education, Training And Experience
- Master's Degree required.
- Valid Colorado Principal License.
- Minimum of four years of experience in teaching.
- Experience as a building leader preferred.

- Advanced oral and written communication, English language, interpersonal relations, customer service, public relations, critical thinking, problem solving, organizational, and supervisory/management skills.
- Basic math and accounting skills.
- Strong personal computer, keyboarding, and word processing skills.
- Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job.

- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education, Superintendent, building, and department policies and procedures.

- Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
