About the role

Albemarle County Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal for the 2026-2027 school year at Albemarle High School. The ideal candidate should be highly effective, innovative, reflective, collaborative, and knowledgeable in school leadership, instructional best practices, and lifelong learning.

Responsibilities

• Work with all students, staff, and families to ensure equitable learning experiences
• Engage with families and communities to support student success
• Build relationships with students, families, and staff to provide optimal learning experiences
• Collaborate with other school principals to solve problems and implement best practices
• Support the implementation of the school's Culturally Responsive Teaching model

Requirements

A minimum of five years teaching experience is required. Applicants must hold (or be eligible by June 30, 2026) a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision PK-12.
