About This Role
Epiphany Lutheran Nursery School in Richmond, VA is hiring an Assistant Preschool Teacher to support daily operations at an early childhood education center. This position offers $15 – $45/Hr and requires relevant professional experience.
We are seeking a qualified and caring individual to support the Lead Teacher in creating a comprehensive and engaging program for young children, aligning with school policies and best practices in early childhood education.

What You'll Do
- Assist the Lead Teacher in developing and implementing a program of activities that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development of each child enrolled in ELNS.
- Work Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm during the school year, with potential for additional hours between 8am and 2:30pm in our before/after school programs. Ability to work in these programs is a plus.
Requirements
- All candidates should have at least a high school diploma, a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, preferably in a preschool setting.
- They should be able to lift 50 pounds and demonstrate a full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit or otherwise fully participate in activities.
- A higher education in early childhood education is a plus.
- Must enjoy working with children and families and have the patience to work with young children in particular.
Nice to Have
- The ideal candidate would possess Creative and artistic talents!
- Experience with CPR Certification and Child Development Coursework or Credential would be highly valued.
- Certification in CPR and coursework in Child Development would be a plus!

ELNS is a religiously exempt 1/2 day preschool program (8:45-noon) with optional programs which make it possible for students to extend the day from 8am-3pm. We are NOT a day care but rather a school that is rooted in Christian values and offers a play-based learning environment.
