Responsibilities
- Enforces pool rules and facility policies.
- Supports emergency action plans.
- Adds authority to ask patrons to leave the facility if they are unsafe.
- Makes decisions as Pool Manager designee during the absence of the Pool Manager.
- Aids in daily admissions, lesson registrations, cashiering duties, and preparing daily deposits.
- Coordinates swim lessons, evaluations, testing, progress reports, and certificates.
- Provides customer service to patrons, responds to questions, concerns, and incidents in a professional manner.
- Supervises lifeguards and swim instructor staff.
- Provides on-deck leadership and guidance.
- Aids in scheduling staff, monitoring attendance, and reviewing employee time records.
- Supports staff training, safety drills, and in-service sessions consistent with Red Cross standards.
- Aids in ensuring staff maintain certifications and assists with recordkeeping.
- Maintains a safe and clean pool deck, office, and storage areas.
- Maintains safety, chemical, fecal incidents, and operational logs and binders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- One years' experience in an aquatic facility or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid and current driver's license.
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification, including CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid Certification.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug testing to include prescription medications.
Preferred Qualifications
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification.
- Ability to obtain a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification.
- Experience assisting with staff scheduling or training.
- Prior experience in a lead lifeguard or head instructor role.
