About the role

Facilitate the use of Federal-aid funds by Local Public Agencies or other approved entities. Ensure construction plans conform to Federal and State regulations, design standards, and practices. Coordinate federal fiscal year end project status for project authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure construction plans conform to Federal and State regulations, design standards, and practices.
  • Review technical information and arrive at solutions to problems as they arise.
  • Manage programs and projects, ensuring compliance while maintaining flexibility in engineering judgment.
  • Coordinate federal fiscal year end project status for project authorization.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID).
  • Knowledge and application of civil engineering principles and standards.
  • Knowledge of construction plan preparation and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of environmental requirements, appropriate Federal regulations and AASHTO guidelines.
  • Knowledge of financial and cost estimations for bid proposals.

Qualifications

  • Technical writing skills sufficient to communicate highly technical information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to manage programs, projects, and multiple assignments with respect to deadlines.
  • Ability to ensure compliance while maintaining flexibility in engineering judgment.
