New Product Planning

The Senior Engineering Planner (New Product Planner) plays a critical role in supporting Product Engineering Teams by managing the documentation, part creation, and coordination activities required to successfully introduce new products into manufacturing.

  • New Product Documentation: Create and manage new product documentation based on input from multiple sources. Track documents through the approval process to ensure timely completion.
  • Part Number Creation: Generate manufacturing part codes and associated customer part numbers, including all relevant data required to define how finished goods are manufactured.
  • Engineering Work Orders: Initiate and manage electronic work orders for starting or modifying engineering wafer lots in internal fabs, or raise purchase requisitions for external fabs, in alignment with Product Engineering needs.
  • Backend Manufacturing Coordination: Issue electronic work orders for probe, assembly, final test, and qualification processes for new product materials. Coordinate closely with backend manufacturing teams, particularly Microchip Thailand to ensure timely product development support.
  • Procurement Support: Create purchase requisitions for materials, including masks, wafers, equipment, and services required for engineering activities.
  • Data Accuracy: Ensure accurate and up-to-date part data is maintained across all relevant Microchip systems.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, manufacturing, information services, document control, mask shop, production planning, and wafer fabs.
  • Acquisition Integration: Participate in product integration activities related to acquisitions, as needed.
