About the Role
As a Publix Pharmacy Associate, you’ll work for a company passionately devoted to its customers, associates, and the wellness of the communities it serves. Responsibilities
- Dedicate yourself to the overall pharmacy department success by executing strategy, motivating staff, and setting priorities as the pharmacist-on-duty in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
- Provide best-in-class pharmacy service to patients, empower staff through counseling, build personalized relationships, and promote customer loyalty.
- Offer pharmacist-led clinical services to improve health, wellness, and preventative care, including immunizations and MTM.
- Mentor, train, and develop a high-functioning pharmacy team, tailoring developmental opportunities to meet individual needs.
- Inspire your team to uphold accountability for pharmacy goals, champion programs, and foster enthusiasm for innovation.
- Manage department performance, including scheduling, task assignment, and ensuring timely completion of operational activities.
- Ensure continuous improvement by understanding sales and service metrics, using best practices, and making sound business decisions.
- Serve as an expert on the pharmacy technology system for routine and complex prescription processing.
- Manage medication inventory, mentor others on best practices, and use programs like auto refill and Sync Your Refills to maximize sales and minimize shrink.
- Proactively advance pharmacy clinical initiatives, including MTM and immunizations.
- Participate in local community events, such as health screenings, to meet unique health and preventative care needs.
- Maintain a flexible work-week schedule to meet customer needs.
- Assist in all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a graduate of a school of pharmacy.
- Must have and maintain an unrestricted state pharmacist license.
- Must not have active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions related to participation in private, federal, or state health insurance programs.
- Must not have received an unacceptable result on a company-sponsored drug test within the last three years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Be an immunizing pharmacist meeting state requirements (or scheduled to become one in the next training class).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret instructions and solve problems.
- Numerical and financial aptitude.
- Knowledge of retail merchandising and inventory control.
