Responsibilities

  • Be dedicated to the overall pharmacy department success by executing strategy, motivating and inspiring staff as the pharmacist-on-duty, setting priorities to maximize contribution, seeking feedback and developmental opportunities for advancement in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Provide best-in-class pharmacy service to patients, empower staff in providing value and service through counseling, building personalized relationships, promoting customer loyalty, and offering pharmacist-led clinical services to improve health, wellness, and preventative care.
  • Mentor, train, and develop a high-functioning pharmacy team, providing developmental opportunities and challenging assignments tailored to each staff member’s needs.
  • Inspire your team to do the right thing, gain buy-in, and empower the team to be accountable for the goals of the pharmacy department while serving as a champion for executing programs and processes.
  • Manage department performance, including scheduling and assigning tasks to ensure complex operational activities are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and maintain a competitive advantage by understanding metrics related to sales and service, using best practices, and making sound business decisions in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
  • Be regarded as an expert on the pharmacy technology system and its use for both routine and complex prescription processing.
  • Excel in managing medication on-hand inventory, mentor others on best practices to maximize sales, minimize shrink, and meet customers’ needs using programs such as auto refill and Sync Your Refills.
  • Proactively advance pharmacy clinical initiatives including Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and immunizations.
  • Participate locally as a community pharmacist in events that meet the unique health and preventative care needs within the local area, such as health screenings.
  • Maintain a flexible work-week schedule to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Assist in all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be a graduate of a school of pharmacy.
  • Must have and maintain an unrestricted state pharmacist license.
  • Must not have active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions related to participation in a private, federal, or state health insurance program upon hire and thereafter.
  • Must not have received an unacceptable result on a company-sponsored drug test within the last three years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Be an immunizing pharmacist meeting the requirements as established by the state (or be scheduled to become an immunizer in the next set of training classes).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret and understand instructions and solve problems.
  • Numerical and financial aptitude.
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising and inventory control.
