Assistant or Associate Professor - Tenure Track
About the role
Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University invites applications for tenure-track positions at the assistant or associate professor level in the Department of Pharmacology. Successful candidates will join a group of supportive colleagues who conduct research across diverse disciplines including cell signaling and growth control, gene expression, 'omics approaches to cancer and age-related disease, host-pathogen interactions, ion channel biophysics and electrophysiology, metabolic and liver disease, pulmonary medicine and translational pharmacology, therapeutic target development, and drug discovery.
Responsibilities
- Develop a robust, externally funded research program to conduct studies in fields related to human health, development and disease.
- Support the educational goals and activities of Rutgers University through teaching and service, including participation in the teaching of professional, graduate and undergraduate students, and mentorship of trainees.
- Gradually assume teaching responsibilities commensurate with the teaching load of other tenure-track faculty in the departments.
- Research programs utilizing interdisciplinary and translational approaches that develop interactions with the Departments of Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, or Neurology, the Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science, the Rutgers Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine, the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, and other clinical departments within RBHS are encouraged.
Requirements

Qualifications
- PhD in Pharmacology or a closely related field.
- Strong record of research productivity and potential for external funding.
- Ability to teach and mentor students at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Experience working collaboratively with other departments and institutes at Rutgers University.
