Assistant or Associate Professor of Operations Management

California State University, Stanislaus invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Supply Chain Management at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning August 2027.

About the Role

The Department of Management, Operations, and Marketing seeks a faculty member to play a key role in the development and growth of the Department's new Supply Chain Management track/concentration. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty in developing and continuously improving the Supply Chain Management curriculum, establishing relationships with industry partners, and supporting student engagement through experiential learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective teaching and mentoring to students at the Turlock campus and other instructional sites (e.g., Tracy).
• Maintain an active program of scholarship that satisfies AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) qualification standards.
• Provide service to the Department of Management, Operations, and Marketing, the College of Business Administration, the University, and the profession.
• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in supply chain management and related areas, including but not limited to:
  • Procurement and Strategic Sourcing
  • Production Planning and Control
  • Supply Chain Analytics
  • Logistics and Transportation Management
  • Distribution and Order Fulfillment
  • Global Supply Chain Management
  • Digital Supply Chains
  • Sustainable Supply Chain Management
• Enhance the curriculum and support curriculum innovation aligned with evolving industry needs.

Requirements

• An earned Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration with a concentration in Operations or Supply Chain Management, or a closely related discipline from an AACSB-accredited doctoral institution at the time of appointment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, as evidenced by strong teaching evaluations by students and a strong record of engaging students across instructional modalities, including in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
• Experience developing and teaching courses in supply chain management.
• Demonstrated success in curriculum innovation, instructional design, or program development that enhances student learning outcomes and career readiness.
• Evidence of an active research agenda with demonstrated potential to publish in respected, peer-reviewed operations management and/or supply chain management journals.
• Expertise or interests in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Risk and Resilience, or Sustainability.
• Relevant industry or professional experience is desirable.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering student success in a diverse learning environment and supporting students from a wide range of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Pay

The anticipated hiring range is $10,400–$11,264 per month (12 monthly payments per academic year), commensurate with qualifications and experience.

About the Department and College

The Department of Management, Operations, and Marketing offers concentrations in Management (Human Resources, International Business, and Strategy/Entrepreneurship tracks), Operations Management, and Marketing. The department is part of the College of Business Administration, an AACSB-accredited program. The College also offers a Master of Business Administration degree, an Executive Master of Business Administration degree, and an Online Master of Business degree.
