About the role

The Counseling Department in Regent University's School of Psychology and Counseling is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor to join our team. The ideal candidate will integrate Christian faith with counseling theory and practice while maintaining excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and supervise in both master's and doctoral programs
  • Conduct research that contributes to the field of counselor education
  • Engage in service activities that enhance the reputation of the Counseling Department and the School of Psychology and Counseling
  • Participate in departmental, school, and university committees
  • Develop and maintain a vibrant online presence for the Counseling Department

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program
  • Clear professional identity as a counselor educator
  • Current licensure as an LMFT or LPC, or ability to obtain Virginia licensure within several months of hire
  • Demonstrated expertise in marriage and family counseling or clinical mental health counseling
  • Ability to teach across the counselor education curriculum in both master's and doctoral programs

Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to teaching across face-to-face, digital distance-based, and hybrid course delivery modalities
  • Experience supervising graduate students in counseling programs
  • Active participation in national, regional, and state organizations related to counseling and psychology
  • Ability to articulate counseling theory and practice through the lens of the Christian tradition

Skills

  • Proficiency in using educational technology tools
