Assistant or Associate Professor, Medical and Cancer Genetics
About the role
The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member specializing in medical genetics research and clinical care for oncology patients. This position will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT), commensurate with experience and qualifications in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutch and the appropriate division at UW, based upon board certification(s) of successful applicant.
Responsibilities
- Participation in the clinical and instructional activities of the Clinical Research Division, the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Cancer Genetics and Prevention Clinic, and other Divisions, as applicable.
- Engage in ongoing clinical and laboratory research programs related to cancer genetics and precision prevention.
- Develop and lead their own clinical research programs.
- Serve on the cancer genetics clinical service, which includes multidisciplinary risk assessment and cancer risk reduction for complex and high-risk individuals.
Requirements
- MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent).
- Board eligibility or certification (or foreign equivalent) in Medical Genetics, Medical Oncology, or Hematology with experience in cancer genetics.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Washington.

- Demonstrated record in clinical research involving cancer genetics.

Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is from $226,754 to $443,704 for faculty hired at the Assistant Professor rank and from $255,843 to $470,360 for faculty hired at the Associate Professor rank. This position may be incentive eligible.
