Assistant or Associate Professor in Painting/Drawing/Foundations - Art

Core Responsibilities

• Conducting ongoing professional creative research.
• Teaching and advising graduate students.
• Instructing undergraduate courses from beginner to advanced levels.
• Actively participate in administrative operations, which include departmental and university committees, student recruitment, assessment activities, and serving in leadership departmental governance positions, including the rotating leadership for the Art Department and Studio Art programs.

Qualifications

• An MFA in Art or equivalent is required, along with an active practice and a record of professional accomplishments and exhibitions.
• Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of a variety of approaches and techniques in 2D art making and a proficiency in contemporary art theory and art history.
• Candidates are preferred to have at least two years of successful teaching experience in painting, drawing, and/or 2D foundations, as well as mentoring students, especially first-generation college students.
• Candidates should have experience with administrative skills and academic program development.

Compensation

Salary Range: $76,937 - $113,982 depending on rank, experience, and qualifications.
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
