About the role
The Extruder Assistant is responsible for assisting with the operation of the extruding blown film lines to ensure efficient production of high-quality film. They also assist in the set-up of production runs and roll changes, perform quality checks, maintain materials for the extruders, and operate and maintain forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
Responsibilities
- Assists Operator in the operation of blown film extruders
- Assists in the set-up of production runs and roll changes
- Performs quality checks visually and by using various measurement tools to ensure overall quality per product requirements
- Maintains materials for the extruders
- Accurately labels completed rolls and other inventories
- Operates and maintains forklift and material handling equipment safely
- Exercises good manufacturing practices when using or handling inventories
- Operates core cutting machine and palletizing equipment
- Notifies Lead or Manager of machine/material related problems
- Acquires knowledge and skills of Extruder Operator position
- Takes direction well and communicates effectively with others to ensure an efficient and positive work environment
- Attends meetings and safety trainings, as required
- Adheres to all company safety rules and guidelines
- Is aware of the company quality policy and understands how the job relates to it
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- One year experience in a technically oriented position desired

- Ability to utilize basic Microsoft platforms
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, such as but not limited to, safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, gloves
- Ability to report to work on different shifts for training or production needs
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and contribute positively to an engaging and positive work environment

Pay
The salary range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The Extruder Assistant works Monday-Thursday from 6:45 PM-6:45 AM.
