About the role
Onsite, full-time hourly position located at 201 Spruce Dickinson, TX 77539. Standard working hours are Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm with required availability to work weekend and off-hour events. Event travel and attendance at staff meetings and trainings is required, including overnight stays. During the event season (October through April), this role is expected to be available to work 2-3 weekends per month.
The Assistant Operational Support is an important member of our Varsity All Star Operations Team, providing support to the members of this department and executing additional job functions. This person should be extremely organized, able to multi-task, and project oriented. The Assistant Operational Support will represent Varsity Brands by demonstration of company core values in driving the highest ethical standards of conduct in all business activities.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Warehouse Manager to support daily operations and inventory management.
- Assist Logistics Coordinators with inventory control, transportation, and supply chain activities.
- Support Event Coordinators and Event Planners with event preparation, organization, and execution.
- Assist Production Coordinators with event logistics, equipment management, and operational readiness.
- Provide customer service and data entry support for registration processes.
- Perform general administrative, clerical, and office support duties.
- Serve in various operational and support roles at events as needed.
- Assist with and, when appropriate, lead event setup, breakdown, and on-site execution activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience in cheer/dance industry a plus.
Skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to problem solve under pressure.
- Familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suites.
- High level of customer service acumen.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with various stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
- This job operates in a professional office, warehouse, and event environment.
- In the office, largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. Ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PCs, laptop, and telephone will be required.
- In the warehouse, physically demanding work may be required. The ability to often lift heavy items is essential.
- During events, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (five hours plus) is required.
- The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using radio, walkie talkie, text message, and email is required.
- The ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 30 lbs. is required.
