As the largest satellite campus within the AdventHealth system, AdventHealth Altamonte has been providing state-of-the-art healthcare to the community since 1973. The 393-bed hospital cares for more than 168,000 patients a year.
Responsibilities
- Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations.
- Fosters a culture of psychological safety, where the team members feel supported, valued, empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully.
- Promotes evidence-based practice, ensuring quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning.
- Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels.
- Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns and provide guidance.
- Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital policies while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness.
- Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
- Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.
- Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care.

Requirements
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
- Related clinical experience you would expect of a person who has led other leaders [Required]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
Skills
- Must be a mature, self-motivated and self-driven individual who has learned is an excellent self-leader [Required]
- Must be able to adjust to demanding hours, diverse circumstances, work independently and dependently of others and have a high level of effective collaboration with varying constituencies [Preferred]
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to maintain flexibility in schedule and adapt to varying deadlines and changing priorities [Required]
- Must be detail oriented and must have an excellent understanding of applicable nursing, clinical and patient statutory policies and regulations [Required]
Pay
Pay Range $33.99 - $63.22 per hour
