About the Role
The Assistant Nurse Manager oversees the Hearts Pod 3 within a 1500-bed Level One Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
- Manage staff including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Coordinate patient care, ensuring interventions meet age and developmental needs, and support collaborative care planning.
- Supervise staffing, respond to operational needs, and ensure productivity aligns with departmental goals.
- Participate in budget development and adherence, monitor staff hours, handle payroll updates, and communicate staff-related information.
- Lead performance management efforts and promote a safe, efficient work environment.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- 2–5 years of experience; preferred 5–10 years with less than 2 years supervisory experience.
- Leadership, staff management, clinical expertise, and strong communication skills.
