Responsibilities
- Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations.
- Fosters a culture of psychological safety, where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully.
- Promotes evidence-based practice, ensures quality outcomes, and fosters a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning.
- Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels.
- Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital polices while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness.
- Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
- Counsels staff through difficult situations and provides support.
- Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and provide guidance.
- Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care.
- Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within Florida Hospital guidelines and applicable regulations.

- Ability to learn and apply computer related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
- 2+ years acute care nursing experience [Required]
- 2+ years of experience providing leadership of care team or equivalent (i.e. team leader, clinical nurse coordinator) [Preferred]
