Responsibilities

  • Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations.
  • Fosters a culture of psychological safety, where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully.
  • Promotes evidence-based practice, ensures quality outcomes, and fosters a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning.
  • Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels.
  • Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital polices while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness.
  • Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
  • Counsels staff through difficult situations and provides support.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and provide guidance.
  • Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care.
  • Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Mental and emotional stability, demonstrating a courteous and calm approach to all contacts with patients, visitors, and health care team members.
  • Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within Florida Hospital guidelines and applicable regulations.
  • Personal qualities such as kindness, compassion, understanding, integrity, respect, sense of humor, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn and apply computer related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in English and in written form with persons of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective and professional manner.

  • Knowledgeable in assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
  • 2+ years acute care nursing experience [Required]
  • 2+ years of experience providing leadership of care team or equivalent (i.e. team leader, clinical nurse coordinator) [Preferred]

This facility pays $32.48 - $60.42 per hour.
