Job Summary
The 4 South Medical Surgical department at St. Anthony North Hospital, an achieved Magnet® Hospital, treats cardiac, neuro, and med-surg patients. This includes a variety of diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, Chest Pain, MI, GI bleeds, post-catheterization, TIA, TR bands, and stroke. Overflow from other parts of the hospital is accepted if the patients meet the unit's criteria.
Responsibilities
- Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
- Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
- Aid in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
- Daily productivity and expense management and support the unit/department manager with budget preparation.
- Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
- Encourage employee participation in decision-making through shared governance and support change management.
- Support professional development to improve employee retention.
Job Requirements
- 2 years clinical RN experience
- 6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred
- A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
- Current RN License to practice in state of employment
- Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc.
- Nursing Specialty Certification: Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
- Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire/transfer into this role
Physical Requirements
- Medium Work - Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly
Pay
$41.50 - $72.11 /hour
