Assistant Nurse Manager Integrated Spine
Additional Information About The Role
Integrated Spine is a newly integrated inpatient spine unit that consolidates neurologic and orthopedic spine patients into one location. This allows for high-quality, standardized care for all patients regardless of surgeon specialty. This unit is the newest addition to the surgical services team and provides an opportunity for nurses to help build this unique unit. Nurses on this unit will become adept in both the neurologic and orthopedic realms of nursing as they will care for patients who undergo a wide variety of surgical procedures. We specialize in treatment of degenerative spine conditions, traumatic spinal injuries, complex spinal reconstructive surgeries, spinal tumors, and spinal revision surgeries.
Responsibilities
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans.
- Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals.
- Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions with regard to their age and developmental needs to attain the patient's optimal level of wellness and documents according to policy.
- Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment.
- May support the review of staff hours worked vs scheduled hours and determine appropriate disposition if variation exists.
- Performs and approves daily payroll updates. Reconciles time cards, bonus tracking and coding approval.
- Prepares, coordinates and executes all staff communications; prepares huddle agendas and leads meetings.
- Determines staffing needs; makes nursing assignments as well as assigns overtime.
- Recommends effective annual increases.
- Interviews staff for open positions; evaluates and conducts performance reviews as assigned; drafts and issues corrective actions/coaching; follows up regarding any disciplinary action to determine compliance.
- Responsible for staff productivity and the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- Counsults on performance evaluations and makes recommendations on areas of improvement if needed.

- 4x10's
- Up to 15k Sign-on Bonus eligible (external applicants)
