Assistant Nurse Manager - GYN Oncology

About the role

Provides specialized nursing care to female patients in a 24-bed GYN Oncology unit with moderate to high acuity, including chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, symptom and pain management, palliative, and hospice care. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team comprising oncology-trained nurses, advanced practice nurses, case managers, social workers, pharmacy, spiritual care, and physicians.

The role requires alertness and adherence to safety protocols. This position supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered oncology nursing care in a top-ranked hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate patient care, ensuring interventions are appropriate for patients' age and needs.
• Supervise staff through hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development plans.
• Assist in staffing, budget adherence, and resource management.
• Oversee documentation, staff scheduling, payroll, and communication.
• Evaluate staff productivity and departmental operational goals.
• Participate in safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• BSN required
• RN licensure essential
• 2-5 years of experience
• Supervisory experience preferred

Schedule
